Curly hair loves moisture and understanding how to keep your hair moisturized will result in keeping your curls full of shine, bounce, definition and strength.

Shampooing Your Curls
Scalp care is essential to achieving healthy strands. I also recommend starting with a clarifying shampoo to remove product build up and excess oils. Olaplex No. 4C Clarifying Bonding Shampoo is what I recommend to clarify your scalp. Clarifying is key to maintaining your hair health.
I recommend following up with Biolage Ultra Hydrating Shampoo and Conditioner. Things like heat styling, washing in hot water, exposure to cold dry air, or spending a lot of time in the sun can really take a toll on the hair and strip it of its natural moisture. Biolage Ultra Hydrating Shampoo is great for dry, damaged hair that needs extra moisture. Curly hair tends. to be more difficult to maintain moisture because of the curly pattern making it more difficult for moisture to travel down the hair shaft. This intense moisturizing is formulated with aloe, cupuacu butter and apricot kernel oil. It's a vegan formula that gently cleanses hair leaving it extremely moisturized.
Moisturizing after Silk Press
Obviously, we want to avoid moisture while attempting to maintain a silk press service. However, we also want to prevent dryness, breakage and brittle hair. I recommend avoiding any water based products while your hair is silked out. Aveda Dry Remedy Daily Moisturizing Oil is great for keeping your strands soft, hydrated and shiny without causing your hair to revert. Also cover your hair while showering and avoid intense exercise.
Moisturizing Natural Hairstyles
After shampooing and conditioning your hair you want to layer on the moisture by applying a leave in conditioner. I recommend Biolage All In One Leave In Conditioner before styling. This helps smooth and detangle while also protecting hair from heat damage and breakage. After styling I suggest amping up the moisture with shine using Aveda Dry Remedy Daily Moisturizing Oil. This will add more moisture and shine without weighing your hair down, and also keeping your hair soft and manageable.
How Often Should You Moisturize
I recommend moisturizing your scalp daily using Mizani Coconut Souffle Hairdress cream. This cream is very lightweight and it is a great way to add daily moisture to your scalp and strands without build up or weighing your hair down. This is water based and not recommended to be used when you have a Silk Press.
